Meet the creators, owners and bakers behind I Have Sweet Tooth, Marina M and Shio Wei. Shio Wei is a Malaysian Institute of Baking graduate while Marina is an alumna of Le Cordon Bleu International Bangkok, Thailand. What began as a burgeoning interest blossomed into a full-time career with Sweet Tooth officially opening its door in 2012.
How did Sweet Tooth begin?
It started off as a Facebook page in 2009 sharing about cakes and desserts, where we would post pictures of what we had baked for friends and families. Soon, more and more people were making enquiries and orders started coming in. We were also feeling oppressed by the creative differences at our day job as cake artists, so we decided that a change was now or never and threw caution to the wind.
For us, ‘Pattiseur’, ‘Cake Artist’ and ‘Baker’ are just titles for differentiation like brands of cars. At the end of the day, it’s the passion that drives us to do the real work and that will show, no matter what.
We complement one another professionally as we take turns to be practical, creative, simple or lavish throughout designing and execution processes. This benefits our clients as they will enjoy the best we have to offer.

We operate from a pork-free kitchen with halal ingredients only. Rest-assured that we are equally careful when selecting imported sources to be used in our baking. If and when liquor is involved, the cake is prepared in a separate kitchen. Our secure knowledge of technique tempered by discipline and touch of inspiration will definitely put our client’s celebration in good hands.
